Your teaching experiences will definitely tell your potential employers that you will be the next great teacher in their university. Specify your job title and a brief job description. 5. Special Skills - Basic or advanced computer skills will always be valuable. Proficiency in any foreign language is a plus. Don’t forget to include any other special skills as long as they aid you in your teaching career.
  6. Professional Associations - List down significant positions in an organization or memberships in any education committees. Employers sometimes regard this as a good reference of your professional background.

Resume Structure

Take time to examine the details of your resume. If you can, let someone read it for you just to make sure you did not miss any important detail.

  • As much as possible stick to a one-page resume unless you have several years of teaching experience. But no matter how experienced you are in the teaching field, don’t bore your future employer or recruiter with your long resume. Keep it brief and simple.
  • Always check for misspelled words in your resume. Typographical errors rank number 1 in the most common errors of a candidate in his job search. Pay attention to details.
  • Do well on the presentation. Make sure there is enough white space to make it easy to read. Avoid any erasures or unnecessary markings and use a font that is pleasant to the eye.
  • Use bullet points to emphasize items and highlight (boldface and italics) key points on your resume. However, don’t overdo it.
